Dear customers,
since three months now we have migrated all vServer host systems to the First-Colo datacenter.
During this time we have received and evaluated a lot of feedback from you. In this announcement we would like to share our new experiences with you.
DDoS Protection
With the migration to the First-Colo datacenter, our vServer host systems are now protected by the Arbor DDoS Protection. From day one, we analyzed the incoming DDoS attacks and adjusted the filters and other configurations. Right on 04.01.20, the largest DDoS attack to date (since we migrated the host systems to the First-Colo datacenter) hit one of the host systems with over 7 Gbit/s raw capacity and via the following signatures: ICMP, TCP SYN, TCP RST, UDP, TCP ACK
The DDoS Protection automatically detected and filtered this attack, so that after a short time, no more network interference was noticeable. Since 01.01.20, over 200 DDoS attacks have been received and neutralized on our vServer host systems.
New Processors
With the newly purchased hardware, we have been using two Intel Xeon E5-2667 v2 per host system since the beginning of the year. This significantly increased the usable performance for CPU-intensive applications and reduced the load on the host systems at times when many vServers required a lot of CPU power at the same time.
RAID 1 SSD storage
With the use of the new SSD storage space, new customers now have slightly less storage space available, but many processes such as starting applications, copying a lot of data and other things are completed much faster - as expected.
Conclusion
Due to the new possibilities and performance boosts, the migration to the First-Colo datacenter was a complete success for us and almost all customers. We are looking forward to integrate even more improvements soon and to work with you on your project!
